Hello Dream Team 6th Grade students and parents! My name is Dr. Celeste Turner. You can find me on WCPSS email as [email protected]. The 2013-14 school year begins my 2nd year at Reedy Creek Middle School. I am excited about what this new school year has in store and hope you are too!
A little about me... I am a Raleigh native. I graduated from Sacred Heart Cathedral School and Athens Drive High School wayyyyyyy back in the day!! I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Oral Roberts University and a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am an avid tennis player and enjoy martial arts (kickboxing & muay thai) as a part of my weekly exercise regimen.
My philosophy of teaching/education is very simple - I do what's best for children at all costs while paying very close attention to their academic, intellectual, and social needs. As such, many of the resources you will find on my webpage here have been chosen or designed based on the NC Common Core Essential Standards and high student expectations. My purpose behind everything taught this year has the end goal of high academic achievement and growth on the NC end-of-grade reading/language arts test that will be administered in May 2014.
We will have an outstanding year this year!
